During the month of January 2022, we were humbled and truly grateful to receive and distribute the first of a four (4) months food baskets consignment at our Drop-in-Centre (DIC) Kondele to over 100 members of the KPs within Kisumu (Kondele, Obunga, Manyatta).
The gift of a Food Basket:
- Helps Key Population within Kondele, Obunga, Manyatta etc. get food to their families in need.
- Includes rice, sugar, cooking oil, beans, salt, wheat flour and porridge flour.
- Nudges KPs to share on such Gifts with their neighbors in need.
We are highly grateful to the United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) – through Bar Hostess Empowerment and Support program (BHESP – who generously gave to this cause. The donation has gone a long way in putting food on the table of families who would otherwise not know where their next meal would be coming from – largely due to the loss of jobs and incomes brought about by the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Give a food basket
In this age of COVID-19, families around the world are experiencing hunger on an unprecedented scale and KPs are not spared as they have been unable to work and access food.
With the support of United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) through Bar Hostess Empowerment and Support program (BHESP), under a grant aimed at cushioning KPs to reduce risk of HIV infection, improve nutrition and promote adherence to HIV/AIDS treatment in efforts to contribute to the UNAIDS Global target of 95-95-95 by 2030, KASH has passed Gifts Basket to others in need, and our KPs have stepped up to help their neighbors.
