Since November 2024, KASH has been working with the County Government of Kilifi to support the implementation of settlement specific Community Development Plans (CDPs) for the Kenya Informal Settlements Improvement Project II (KISIP 2). KASH has been instrumental in driving socio-economic inclusion and settlement upgrading in six informal settlements: Mtaani, Kisumu Ndogo, Kibaoni, Kalolo, and Baya Magonzi in Kilifi Municipality, and Muyeye Phase 1 in Malindi Municipality.

In such endeavour KASH is open to professional and technical support for quality delivery of the assignment. To this end, the World Bank Mission to Kilifi County, held on 17th–18th September 2025, marked a significant milestone in the implementation of the project. The mission reaffirmed the strong collaboration between communities, the County Government of Kilifi, national institutions, development partners, and KASH as the Consultant.
The mission validated progress to date, identified critical gaps, and provided actionable recommendations to strengthen quality, safeguards compliance, and long-term impact. Deliberations underscored the importance of sustained follow-up meetings between the Operator (KASH), Kilifi County Government, KISIP, and the World Bank to ensure smooth, coordinated, and inclusive implementation.
Speaking on behalf of the County Government, the Deputy Governor, H.E Hon. Flora Mbetsa Chibule expressed deep gratitude for the milestones achieved and for Kilifi being entrusted as the pilot county. She affirmed the County’s firm commitment to deliver high-quality, community-owned projects that will stand as models for replication across other informal settlements in Kenya
